In Kodiak, LeDoux was actively engaged in designing technology-based distance education programs, developing alternative education options for city and rural high school students, implementing culturally relevant academic and vocational programs, and ensuring that the borough schools had effective safety and crisis plans.
In his 30-year professional career, LeDoux has held leadership positions on state committees and the Alaska School Activities Association, and presidencies of the Alaska Association of Secondary School Principals and the Alaska Council of School Administrators.
LeDoux holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Azusa Pacific College; a master of arts in teaching degree in science and biology from UAF; and an Education Specialist degree Ed. S. in educational administration with an emphasis in Alaska Native studies from UAF.
The Commissioner serves as chief executive officer of the Department of Education & Early Development, ex-officio secretary to the State Board of Education & Early Development, and a member of the Governor’s Cabinet. |
