Teaching Techniques to Meet Individual Needs
eLearning Course
The Department of Education & Early Development has
developed web-based, interactive training courses for educators on special
education topics.
The Adapting Teaching Techniques to Meet Individual Needs eLearning
course offers educators the opportunity to:
- Recognize the characteristics of good teaching and effective teaching
strategies, understand the basics of Learning Theory and the Stages
of Bloom’s Taxonomy, and review the five stages of learning
- Recognize the value of data collection, understand the relationship
between data collection-IEP-assessment, and identify the components
of an effective data collection plan
- Identify student strengths, individual student learning styles,
and implement appropriate feedback & correction techniques
- Adapt instruction to accommodate individual students and develop
strategies for teaching reading, writing, math skills, and other content
areas
Adapting Teaching Techniques to Meet Individual Needs Course includes four modules:
- Monitoring Student Progress
- Supporting Student Learning Styles
- Strategies for Accommodating Individual Need
- Identifying Learning Theory
