GEAR UP Alaska was a six-year program that began in 1999. Fourteen (14)
districts serving 62 schools with a 50 percent poverty rate or higher
were awarded this grant through a competitive process.
As part of the GEAR UP Alaska program, a scholarship trust fund was
established that is administered by Alaska Commission on Postsecondary
Education (ACPE). Students who participated in the GEAR UP program may
be eligible to apply for these funds.
