Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs
GEAR UP Alaska was a six-year program that began in 1999. The GEAR UP Alaska Scholarship was funded by a federal grant, which has been exhausted; therefore, it is anticipated that no new awards will be made for the 2011/2012 academic year. Fourteen (14) districts serving 62 schools with a 50 percent poverty rate or higher were awarded this grant through a competitive process.
